Shirley Robles-Slyusar is a contemporary artist specializing in ceramic sculpture, painting, and collage. She earned her BA from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, and is currently based in Phoenix, AZ, where she continues to develop her work.

Influenced by Frida Kahlo, her art explores cultural identity and belonging, reflecting her Mexican heritage and American upbringing. Her work often incorporates elements of Mexican folk art, bilingual text, and personal symbolism to express the blend of languages and cultures in her life.

Shirley teaches ceramics at Seeds for Autism, helping young adults build creative and practical skills, and is currently expanding her practice into stained glass.
